A former senior executive in multinational healthcare companies, I always believed that my preeminent responsibility as a manager was to recruit outstanding people. It is what I worked hardest at, and consequently, what I did best. I felt that if I was successful at attracting the right people, all of my other responsibilities would be a great deal easier – and they were.
